The best PC racing games of 2021

The memorable competition title is based on four pillars: a satisfactory sense of speed; Graphics that sell car movement and create a comfortable gaming world; tight controls and excellent sound effects and cruise music. It doesn’t matter if the genre is Arcade, Sim or Kart; When a racing game dominates these elements, it adds up to the big names on the page. The question is, which PC games are valid? Our list sorts a few winning circle games from many other places.

There is full competition in the competition. At the time of writing, Steam has dedicated more than 18 pages to competitiveness (which can’t get through other game stores in racing games). Some of the titles mentioned are certainly not racing games. The Rocket League, for example, has wheeled vehicles that literally accelerate toward the finish line, but it’s no doubt a sports game (anyone who says otherwise is lying and not your friend). Similarly, EmergeNYC, a simulation game where you jump into the shoes of NYPD, FDNY, or EMS and try to save lives, is not a racing game.

The racing game has a title that lets you control the vehicle while trying to overtake the race and reach first. That is our definition, and we think it is fair.

If you are reading this article, you probably need speed. Fortunately, too. PCMag’s pit crew loves a good racing game, so we have several recommended titles to try. We admit, our tastes lean deep into the arcade and the map side of things. We are expanding the field with upcoming tough racing combos such as Assetto Corsa Competizione, Automobilista, Dirt and Project Cars. Find it soon.

Burnout Paradise Remastered (for PC)

Originally released in 2008 for PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, Burnout Paradise is one of Criterion’s best games, so it only makes sense that Burnout Paradise Remastered is even better.

In addition to some welcome graphics enhancements, PC gamers will get the former console-only Big Surf Island and experience all of its potential for tricks and chaos. Paradise City Map is as useful as ever, Whether you’re just driving around or taking advantage of the many events available.

Some of the pain points of the original game are still (annoying collision camera, some menu characters), but no one is serious enough to seriously impair the proper handling of the vehicle, the extensive map, and a lot of unlocking.

Dirt 5 (for PC)

Developed by Codemasters, Dod 5 developers date back to the 1990s, when the Colin McRae Rally and Sega Rally Championship made more and more “extreme” racing games. Like these games, Dirt 5 isn’t worried about realism or deep customization options; Instead, the rally competitor will make you blow your victory on winding, muddy tracks.

While not entirely original, Dirt 5 manages to provide a high, colorful racing experience for those looking for a fast-paced escapism-filled PC game.

Forza Horizon 4 (for PC)

In 2018, Forza Horizon 4 appeared on the PC just two years after its excellent predecessor, which led some to question the need to design the series annually. However, Developer Playground Games praised the fact that the competitor’s new features are worth buying. The company had a 100 percent right.

Forza Horizon 4 expands the exciting competition and music festival schedule with new vehicles, fresh and addictive single- and multiplayer modes, and seasonal effects. Changing weather patterns are definitely the best part of the game as they change your mindset. For example, a scenic lake that you enjoy in the spring, summer, and fall can freeze in the winter, so you can drive over it as an alternative route. Spring rains also salt passengers and make bending challenging. The seasons change every week, so you are not in season for too long.

Factor in new performance-enhancing skills, beautiful British environments, the return of Barn Finds, a well-curated soundtrack and Forza Horizon 4 is one of the best racing games seen on the PC in recent years.
